Speed up your Downloads with DNS settings

In Pakistan many people have ask me that there internet downloading speed vary means up and down and some specific websites are not open. This is the problem with your ISP, so many of us suggest you to change your DNS settings from your local ISP to Global ISP like OpenDNS or Google DNS. The benefit of changing DNS setting from Local to Global is that it speeds up your browsing experience and your should see all websites with no problem. Because Global DNS are updated regularly and hence give you much better browsing experience. But the biggest problem with this is that it may slow down your downloading speed. We find out why.

When you change your DNS settings to Global settings it overlap your local settings and hence you lost your location. When ever you want to download files from specific servers like Rapid-share it then look up your DNS settings to find your exact location so that it can connect you to nearest server from you for higher speeds. So how can we speed up our downloads by changing DNS settings.

Step 1:
Download Dig tool and run it against any domain like Youtube.com

Find out the DNS of the website.

Step 2:
When you have the DNS of that website, find out the physical location of the website using online tool.

Now if the server location is nearest to you then change DNS settings and you may enjoy the full downloading speed.
